Wood drying kilns of KovoS SLR type are large sized chambers designed for two packages of timber.
They are usually delivered as a set of walls and completing elements that should be completed.
The kilns are made from aluminium. Wall isolation has heat resistance 2.9° K/W na m2.
Outside dimension of MP kilns are: length 4,7 - 12,8 m; height 3,3 m, width 4,2 m.
The volume of timber in the SL kiln could be - according to the
timber thickness and timber form - from 9,5 to 40,0 m3.
The energetic block with axial fan, bimetal heat exchanger
and automatic chamber ventilation is placed in the upper part of the chamber.
On the back wall, from the outside, there are fittings for conection of cold and hot water,
electrical connection panel (3x400 W) and slots for connection of measurement and regulation elements.
The timber is loaded into the kiln with use of trolleys 4-6 m long.
The two pairs of rails before the chamber have the length according to the trolleys.
The timber pack on the
trolley can be have dimensions: length: 4,2 - 12,5 m, width 1,2 m, height 2,2 m.
The rails inside the chamber are placed in a way that allows good
isolation the floor of the chamber and so minimize energy losses in heating.
The working temperature inside the chamber is usually 50-70 °C (is regulated according to the
wood specied and the process of wood drying ).
Kiln drying chambers MP should be connested to the source of heat water
with temperature max 90°C and output 50 - 120 KW.
Maximum electrical consuption is 2,4 - 7,2 kW.
